There comes a time in everyone's life when you find yourself feeling inadequate and worthless because you have yet to reach your goals. In that exact moment you feel like you should just give up because you just really don't get the point of trying anymore. But just because you feel like quitting doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. You never know exactly how close you are to reaching that goal. It could very well seem that everything you have worked so hard for is in vain and doesn't mean anything anymore, but again that is not the case.

"In the midst of all my worry, and in the midst of all my tears I find my strength in Jesus the man who erases all of my fears. And while I wish that I could make it, he already has a plan that was written before I was born in my faith in Him I stand."

Before I graduated high school I had one thing in mind College but getting to that goal was a bit frustrating at times and caused many tears. The year I graduated I was accepted to various private universities including Howard University, Campbell University and plenty others. I pushed towards Howard the most, not because I wanted that for myself but because my mother wanted that for me. The month before I was to move on campus to start my college career I ran into one major issue, financial aid. Now like I stated before I didn't want Howard for myself my mother wanted that for me, I wanted to stay in North Carolina and attend a University there. Instead of my mother giving me that choice however I was told "you either go to school here in Georgia or you go into the military". Military sounds nice, and it pays well too but I don't participate in physical activity, running is not something I find fun. I also knew I did not want to stay in Georgia, the year I was there was more than enough time for me, so I started searching for various public universities in North Carolina and eventually decided on North Carolina Central University.
The reason I gave this information is not because I am saying "Hey attend my school its great" although if you want to I will not tell you not to. But I said all of that to allow you to see that at some point in your journey towards your goal you are going to go through something that may either send you on a different path, or it will show you just how important the goal is to you. My experience caused me to spend many days frustrated, depressed, and in tears because I felt like I was going to miss out on the one thing that would push me further ahead in life. Now that I am in school and In the last few days of my sophomore year I have found that some days can be worse than others, some classes could push you to want to give up on school, and the friends you make during high school may be the absolute worst people to ever contact during your four years of college. I noticed that a lot of the people I graduated with stayed in the exact city they lived in all of their lives, seriously people please move and go to a different city before you get stuck with the same people you were stuck with for the first eighteen years of your life.
On your journey you will make goals and reach them and then you will make goals and then change that exact goal to something different, as you grow and mature you may not want the same things out of life that you did when you were five. Seriously that 64 pack of crayons and that Disney princess coloring book are no longer important, but your career choice is. Try making a goal wall, one wall in your room filled with everything you want out of life and as you achieve those goals replace that goal with a new goal. Sometimes you have to become creative when it comes to achieving the things you want out of life. Make realistic goals, don't assume that you can just all of a sudden be a doctor in 1 year and you're still in middle school and have yet to even attempt to apply to college, try something more like finish this grade with a GPA of a 3.5 or higher. Short term goals lead up to your long term goal, so try making short term goals first. Always remember your life is exactly that, YOURS and no one should be able to convince you otherwise. You will reach the goals that you set as long as you do not give up on the journey.
Work, push, and have faith.
