We all have things that drive us a little crazy. Some people may find some of them trivial and minuscule, but the fact is that the things still drive us insane. There aren't many things that will drive me up a wall; however, here is a short rant, an informal list in no particular order of 7 little things that drive me crazy.
Quite vs. Quiet: I love having a quiet space; however, I know that some people aren't quite there yet. Get it yet? They really are two different words. It falls right in line with "your vs. you're" and "there vs. their vs. they're".
Making food for lunch and then leaving it at home. Although this is an accident every time, it also drives me a little insane every time it happens. Usually, it means that I was rushing out of the house, which is also insane because I'm very rarely late to anything, which brings me to number 3.
Me being late. If you give me a set time to be somewhere, I'll be there approximately 30 minutes early. Being late causes unnecessary stress on myself. I was raised to be early, to be on time is to be late. I rather sit in my car and relax for 30 minutes than rush into a building at the exact time I should have been there, out of breath and all out of sorts.
The constant "wrong apartment" knocks. I am sure my neighbors have given their guests the right apartment number. I am also aware that people refuse to read until I tell them they are at the wrong apartment and ask what apartment they are looking for. They're usually on the wrong end of the complex.
Terrible communication or lack of. I cannot read minds, please do not assume that I can. If you need something, ask. If you want me to be somewhere, say that. If you do not communicate things ahead of time, please do not expect it of me. I cannot be somewhere you need me to be if you tell me 30 minutes after the time you expected me to show up with no communication beforehand.
Hearing someone chew. I'm not going to explain this one. I will add to it though, the sound of markers on paper and whiteboards, and the sound of styrofoam.
Having a conversation with someone and realizing they're not listening. I hang up, what's the point of a one-sided conversation? I can literally talk to myself for that. Seriously, I'm not a person to call too many people so if I call and I realize that you're not paying attention to the conversation, chances are I'm hanging up.
Now that you know a few of mine, feel free to comment a few of yours too.
