Dear Princess,
Very often we find ourselves trying to get out of the very things we asked God for. Not because they have gone wrong but because we fear how far they will go. We often times find ourselves dragging our feet on things that God has called us to do for that very reason. More times than not we are faced with the question: Am I really able to do this? Am I enough to see this through? And we convince ourselves that the ultimate answer is “no” and that God was wrong. The fault in this entire way of thinking is that God makes no mistakes. There is no way that God called you to the office of ___ and halfway through you realize that He chose the wrong person, because again – God does not make mistakes.
My favorite chapter in the Bible as a child was Psalm 139, and I still find myself quoting it when I find myself doubting everything God has placed in me.
Psalm 139: 1-6 says: “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain”.
This was my favorite at that age not because I knew much about what it meant but because my Grandmother taught it to me. As I look back at the scripture today I find more meaning than I did about 2 years ago. Above I only included verses 1-6; however, to sum up the entire chapter, it is clearly stating that God formed you in your mother’s womb and because of that He knows everything there is to know about you. This is how I know God makes no mistakes. He knows you, he knows the flaws you will have and the situations that you will find yourself in. God knows exactly how much you can handle and He himself has called you to something that will cause you to be so uncomfortable that you would do anything to find a way out. Verse 14 says: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”. God equipped you with what you will need to walk in your calling.
Pull yourself together, God doesn’t make mistakes.
